Overview
Solar water heaters utilize solar heat energy to generate hot water. A standard solar water heater comprises a solar collector installed on a building’s roof, linked to a water-storage tank. The system allows unheated water to circulate from the tank through the collector for direct heating or be heated by a high-capacity heat-exchange fluid. This fluid, warmed in the collector, transfers heat through tubes in the water within the tank. While passive means can facilitate heat transfer without mechanical intervention, “active” solar hot water systems employ electricity for circulating the heat-exchange fluid and operating mechanical pumps and controllers.

How It Works?!
The Sun’s rays fall on the collector panel (a component of solar water heating system). A black absorbing surface (absorber) inside the collectors absorbs solar radiation and transfers the heat energy to water flowing through it. Heated water is collected in a tank which is insulated to prevent heat loss.
